PURPOSE:To obtain an image recording medium capable of obtaining a recording image of good quality by providing a layer composed of an AB type copolymer resin having a fluoroalkyl group on a support. CONSTITUTION:An image recording medium 3 is formed by providing a layer composed of an AB type copolymer resin having a fluoroalkyl group to the single surface of a support (base layer) 31. As the base layer 31, for example, a metal foil composed of a metal such as Al, Fe, Ni or Cu and an alloy thereof or a plastic film composed of a vinyl chloride resin or a polyester resin is used. A recording image is obtained using this image recording medium 3. A color liquid 5 is applied to the surface of the block polymer layer 32 of the image recording medium 3 by a developing roller 4. The heating element 2 of a thermal head 1 generates heat on the surface of the image recording medium 3 (base layer 31) on the side opposite to the surface coated with the color liquid 5 thereof according to a data signal to change the wettability of said surface and the recording image a composed of the color liquid 5 is formed on the image recording medium 3 and transferred to a transfer material 7 such as plain paper to obtain a recording image 8. Since the developing surface of the image recording medium is directly heated and pressed by the thermal head, no disturbance of an image due to the surface deterioration of the image recording medium is generated. |
