The principles of nuclear magnetic resonance are employed in a method to determine material properties and rate or fluid change in a test subject. A rapid pulse sequence is used to excite the test subject. The different component elements having spin-lattice relaxation times i.e. (T1), (T2), (T3) are the sum of the levels of magnetization represented by curves (21), (22) and (23). Each value of magnetic resonance radiation measured by the rapid pulse sequence is substituted into a mathematical relationship that relates NMR radiation intensity to the number of sources associated with the material properties.
|
