PURPOSE:To make the top and bottom of slab so as not to be scratched by edging a slab by combining the phase of the bending point of die so as to be different in the direction of transporting line in accordance with the curved direction of the camber of the slab. CONSTITUTION:When the camber that is curved left is generated on a slab 3, the clamping face 32 of a lower die 34 is confronted with the left edge part 4 in the width direction downstream the transporting line S of slab and a die holder is closely fixed to a bolster 13 with a guide clamp by actuating a clamp cylinder. Right and left press slides 12 are caused to approached to the transporting line S of slab, a left lower die 34 and right upper die 33 are brought into contact with both edge parts 4 in the width direction of the slab 3 and the slab 3 is edging formed. The slab 3 is edging formed while being curved right downstream the transporting line S of slab by using the bending point 39 of the right upper die 33 as a supporting point and the above-mentioned camber that is curved left is corrected.
