Equipment forms materials into desired contours and, in particular, has a means of rolling rubber articles. The layout has a number of (pref.) identical rings (1) which can be locked together round the centre shaft (2) by means of two outer clamping plates (3). The rings (1) are pref. metal, with o.d. 200-300 mm and thickness a few mm only. It is essential that the i.d. of the rings (1) is considerably greater than the o.d. of the shaft (2). To form the required profile the rings can thus be held eccentrically about the shaft to a degree of up to 50 mm. The end clamping plates (3) can be fixed to the shaft by threads (4) but other means of locking them can be used. ADVANTAGE - The layout guides the contoured articles in a simple manner. It is partic. intended for use with raw tyre tread strips and similar in tyre winding.
