The tool holder for a machine tool consists of two parts (1,2) which are connected to each other by a coupling (3) which provides radial play but prevents relative rotation between the two parts. The coupling (3) has a coupling disc which has at least two radial slots arranged at right angles to each other. One of these radial slots engages a pin (10) which is fixed to one of the parts (2) of the coupling whilst the other radial slot engages a pin (11) which is fixed to the other part (1) of the coupling. The coupling (3) is supported on one side by an intermediate piece (13) which can be adjusted for angular position relative to its associated part (1) of the coupling (3).
