Disclosed are phosphonic acid aryl ester halides of formula (I) in which R<1> is a phenyl or benzyl group with 1 to 3 substituents, alpha -methylbenzyl, alpha , alpha -dimethylbenzyl, naphthyl or a naphthyl group with 1 to 5 substituents, the substituents being the same or different, the substituents being a non-aromatic hydrocarbon group, an alkoxy or alkylthio group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, aryl or aryloxy with 6 to 10 carbon atoms or a halogen with an atomic number of 9 to 35, R<2> is a non-aromatic hydrocarbon group with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, aryl, arylmethyl, arylethyl or arylisopropyl, the aryl entity having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, R<3> is hydrogen or one of the groups defined for R<2> and X is chlorine or bromine. The invention also concerns a method of preparing phosphonic acid ester halides of formula (I). |
