An arrangement for measuring the wall thickness or non-uniformity of rotating tubes (5) contains ultrasonic probes (6) iin radial channels (8) of a mounting device (2) enclosing the tube. During measurement a liquid line supplies a liquid cushion between the probes and the tube. Each probe is mounted in an associated probe holder (7) which is movable in a radial channel between an initial and a measurement position. In the measurement position the probe holder is elastically pressed against the tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - Required distance between probes and tube automatically adjusted for universal use.
