Concrete (I) comprises, cement, aggregate, expanded polystyrene granules, alkaline textile fibre (esp. 24 mm long threads of polypropylene fibres, each 20-40 microns in dia. and 100-300 microns in length) and opt. a flow-enhancing agent. (I) is used to form a habitable modular caissan (II) comprising a closed floor, a panelled roof and walls provided with uprights; with a steel frame (made of cold-formed profile, (III)), joined to give flexural rigidity and covered with (I). (II) esp. has (III) with two C profiles placed back to back for the cross pieces; with U-profile for the lateral parts of the frame; and with parts of the frame of the walls projecting to allow fixing of the roof. The roof panels may be coated with (I) and may be provided with a suspended ceiling which meets the covering of the sidewalls. |
