PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient recording speed and high sensitivity by coating the surface of a granular high polymer formed by subjecting the surface to photoirradiation in the state of suspending a photopolymerizable compd. and a photopolymn. initiator into water by a dispersant with pigment powder having a charge generating function. CONSTITUTION:The photopolymerizable compd. and the photopolymn. initiator 33 are suspended by the dispersant into the water and are subjected to the photoirradiation in this state to form the granular high polymer 31; thereafter, the surface of this granular high polymer 31 is further coated with the pigment powder 34 having the charge generating function. Namely, the powder 33 essentially consisting of the high polymer particle of the thermoplastic resin alone as an essential component is used as a core particle 31 and is coated with the powder 34 having the charge generating function to form the sub-particle 32. A sufficient recording speed and good image quality are obtd. in this way.
