A composition and method for inhibiting the deposition of white pitch on the surfaces of papermaking equipment during the processing of recycled coated broke. The process comprises adding to the coated broke during repulping the composition which comprises a first component which is a tetrafunctional alkoxylated diamine having the general formula: wherein R1 and R2 are ethylene oxide or propylene oxide and R1 and R2 are not the same, and a second component selected from a phosphate, and a phosphonic acid or salt thereof.
