PURPOSE:To effectively discharge the steam generated by a fixing device by providing a guide plate forming a passage communicated from the upper section of the fixing device to the inner space of a suction conveying unit. CONSTITUTION:A suction port 23 is bored on a wall at the portion near the upper section of the fixing device 9 of a suction conveying unit 15, and a duct is formed with a guide plate 24 between multiple openings 25 bored on the upper face of the casing of the fixing device 9 and the suction port 23. A transfer sheet 2 is heated when it passes the nip sections of the roller pair of the fixing device 9, the moisture contained in the transfer sheet 2 is evaporated to generate steam, then the steam rises to the guide plate 24 through the openings 25 bored at the upper section of the casing of the fixing device 9. The guide plate 24 forms a passage to a suction port 23 provided on the wall of a suction conveying unit 15, thus the steam is sucked by the negative pressure in the suction conveying unit 15, thus the steam is sucked by the negative pressure in the suction conveying unit 15 and discharged to the outside by a sucking fan 13. |
