The lighting fixture housing (10) of the ceiling lighting fixture consists of a frame (11), which carries the fluorescent lamp (29), the reflector device (31) and a ballast (40), and of an attachment (12) mounted on the upper end of the frame (14) and into which the lamp (29) projects. The attachment (12) is recessed with respect to the frame (11) laterally and at the end faces, so that it is not normally visible. The attachment (12) can consist entirely or partially of transparent material in order in addition to the downwardly directed light emission to enable a ceiling illumination having lateral emission. The invention facilitates a flat design of the ceiling lighting fixture, the use of large and high reflectors, and a better distribution and control of light. <IMAGE> |
