摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a high temperature-resistant material having high thermal shock resistance and high strength by blending a heat-resistant inorganic fiber with silica source fine powder and alumina source fine powder at a specific silica/alumina weight ratio, aggregating the blend and then forming the aggregate into a sheet body and burning the sheet body. CONSTITUTION:(A) Heat-resistant inorganic fiber (e.g. alumina fiber or silica fiber) are blended with (B) silica source powder (e.g. amorphous silica powder) and alumina source powder (e.g. amorphous alumina powder) having <=1mum average grain size controlled so that the ratio of alumina in the component B is 60-85wt.%. The blend is aggregated and then formed into a sheet body. Then the sheet body is burned to provide the high temperature-resistant material. The resultant high temperature-resistant material can be fabricated into honeycomb structure, because the material has high strength and the material is preferably used in production of a catalyst carrier for high temperature and filter for high temperature, etc. |
