PURPOSE:To enhance the baking efficiency by placing a carbon rod into baking process, which is molded in a gas atmosphere wherein the oxygen concentration in the baking furnace lies under a certain specified level. CONSTITUTION:A carbon rod placed on a heat resistant case 5 is supplied from the inlet of a furnace 10 onto a track 12 and sent to the outlet on the cooling zone F side at certain constant intervals. The exhaust gas after combustion at a burner 14 has an oxygen concentration below 0.1% and runs against a board 13, while pyrolytic gas generated from the carbon rod diffuses to the whole area of the heating zone. The case 5 with carbon rod placed passes through a low temp. region of the heating zone E and is heated quickly to the high temp. region. After being heated in this region, the rod is cooled rapidly in the cooling region F having a continued temp. gradient. This method does not require stopping powder and accommodation part for carbon rod or traveling dolly, and the atmospheric gas will be in direct contact with the carbon rod, which should enhance the baking efficiency. |
