<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of unequal electrification at a joint by turning an electrifying means on/off in the transporting state of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A corona electrifier 13 is turned off when a master P is transported by a prescribed length while the master is held transported by transporting rollers 11. The master P is kept transported and the electrification quantity at the off point decreases gently at the moment of turning off of the electrification. The transportation of the master P is stopped right after the electrification is turned off. The master is thereafter returned to and stopped at the position where the master is to be cut. The master is then cut by a cutter 12, after the master is further transported backward at a prescribed distance and is stopped. The transportation in a forward direction is restarted and the corona electrifier 13 is turned on at the moment of arrival at the position where the electrification is previously turned off. The master P after the cutting is kept transported as it is and is electrified up to the cut end. The generation of the uneven electrifiation at the joint is obviated in this way.</p> |
