The present invention relates to a radiation shielding device and shielding method for preventing radiation exposure occurring when a sample to be measured is analyzed using radiation, the radiation shielding device comprising: a shielding box part into which a radiation generator is inserted; a lock part provided on the exterior of the shielding box part; an operation display unit mounted on the exterior of the shielding box part so as to display a locked state of the lock part; and a control unit for controlling the operations of the radiation generator and the operation display unit, thereby facilitating the checking of whether there is radiation exposure by having a function of detecting and displaying whether an open portion of the shielding device is completely coupled to a cover when the open portion is coupled to the cover, safely blocking radiation by having a function of preventing radiation exposure through a through hole, through which a cable passes, of the shielding box part and checking whether there is radiation exposure even without opening the shielding device since the shielding device has, on the exterior thereof, a radiation leakage display function so as to enable the detection of radiation exposure even on the outside of the shielding device.
