PURPOSE:To obtain the white toner which has excellent stability of electrostatic charges and hiding characteristics, obviates toner splashing and has excellent moisture resistance and cleanability by incorporating thermosetting hollow resin particles of specified sizes into the toner. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin and the thermosetting hollow resin particles having 0.05 to 0.8mum inside diameter and 0.1 to 1mum outside diameter are incorporated into this toner. The scattering of tage incident light on the toner arises effectively and the toner has a brighter white color if such fine particles of the resin having the hollows are incorporated into the toner. Since these particles are the resin similar to the thermosetting binder resin which is the essential component of the toner, the particles have the good affinity to the binder resin and excellent dispersibility. The incorporation of a large quantity of the particles into the toner is thus possible. The functioning of the particles alone as a white coloring agent is possible. The combination use of the particles with ordinarily used white pigments in order to enhance the brightness of the white color is possible as well. |
