PURPOSE:To connect many solar cells in series in one wafer and to form a solar cell module by exposing part of p- and n-type conductive electrodes on the rear of a board, and sequentially connecting the exposed electrodes to the electrode of adjacent solar cell unit. CONSTITUTION:N-type electrodes 12 of the rear of one solar cell single unit are sequentially connected to p-type electrodes 13 on the rear of another adjacent solar cell single unit via wiring metals 14. Thus, insulation of the p-, n- junction is conducted by semi-insulating GaAs substrate 9, and first, second conductive electrodes are formed in recesses formed on a solar cell active region. If a plurality of the single units are connected, the electrodes of the adjacent cells are sequentially connected to the exposed electrodes on the rear side of the substrate 9. Since a groove 15 reaching the substrate 9 is provided between the adjacent units, a plurality of the cells can be formed within one wafer by an easy technique. |
