PURPOSE:To suppress drop of the cycle characteristic due to softening of active substance while the effect of enhancing the rate of service of pos. electrode active substance due to adding of minium by allowing the surface layer of pos. electrode plate, to which minimum is added, to react with sulfuric acid in a concentration within a certain range, and thereby turning the part into lead sulfates. CONSTITUTION:After a grating is filled with paste formed by adding mixture solution chiefly containing sulfuric acid to lead powder including metal lead while the other major components are PbO and lead powder including minium to form a pos. electrode plate, sulfuric acid with a concentration between 10-50wt.% is permitted to react with the surface of this pos. electrode plate, and thus the surface is turned into lead sulfates. Thereby the density is increased, crystallinity improved, and inter active substance tight contacting enhanced, and in particular the mechanical strength of the surface layer increased. This achieves suppressing drop of the cycle characteristics while enhancement of the rate of service (capacity) of the pos. electrode active substance due to minium is maintained. |
