Disclosed are a method and a server for presenting the initialization degree of hardware in a server. In this solution, before a BIOS module 40 runs a preset process, an out-of-band CPU in a hardware system 301 run by a BMC module 300 establishes a connection to a display card 10 by using a signal selection switch 20; the BIOS module 40 sends, to the BMC module 300, presentation information used for representing the initialization degree of hardware comprised in the server; and the BMC module 300 presents the presentation information by using the display card 10. Therefore, in embodiments of the present invention, in an entire process in which the BIOS module 40 initializes the hardware in the server 100, the presentation information can be presented, which overcomes the defect that currently exists that in an entire running phase of the BIOS module 40, a display screen cannot present relevant information of the initialization degree of the hardware in the server. |
