PURPOSE:To make the telephone set to monitor an incoming call through its handset and immediately discriminate the importance of the call without answering to the main trunk line when the telephone set is set to the automatic answering mode by allowing the telephone set not to answer to the main trunk line even when its handset is picked up and the incoming call is monitored. CONSTITUTION:When it is discriminated that receiving data from a handset (slave set S) exist and the slave set S is not picked up from its charger, and then, the data are not automatic answering key data, whether or not the slave set S is set on its charger and, when the set S is not set on the charger, the main trunk line is caught when the call button is operated. When the slave set S is set on the charger, the main trunk line is released. When it is discriminated that the handset is picked up from the charger and the automatic answering mode is set, the main trunk line is not caught. Accordingly, an incoming call can be monitored without answering to the main trunk line when the monitoring is performed with the picked-up handset. Moreover, the non-catching of the main trunk line even when the handset is picked up from the charger in the automatic answering mode includes the recording of the message of an incoming call to the automatic answer. When the automatic answering mode is not set, the main trunk line is caught, but these operations are ordinary quick answering operations. |
