Water is treated by adding it to a storage tank from where it is pumped through a series of treating units. The treated water is transferred to a secondary storage tank from where water for consumption is removed whe required. - Any water remaining in the secondary storage tank after a predetermined time lapse since the pumping of water from the primary to the second tanks, is pumped back to the primary storage tank for retreatment. USE - The water is treated, e.g. for use in private homes where a mains supply is not available, rendering it suitable for consumption.
