摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of a shock during a shift to a first speed by a method wherein, during a period between the starting and completion of a shift to a first speed, a shift control means controls the energizing value of a timing control valve to a value at which a pressure is reduced and after completion of the shift to the first speed, the energizing value is regulated to a value at which a pressure is increased. CONSTITUTION:A timing control valve SL5 operated through electric energization for regulation of an oil pressure exerted on a brake B2 engaged at a first speed and a timing control means 130 to set the energizing current value of a timing control valve SL5 to a value, at which a pressure is reduced, during a period between the starting and completion of a shift to a first speed and set the energizing current value to a value, at which a pressure is increased, after completion of the shift to the first speed are provided. Thus, since a low pressure is applied on the brake B2, engaged at a first speed, by means of the timing control valve SL5, a shock during a shift to a first speed is prevented from production. When a shift to a first speed is completed, the timing control valve SL5 applies a high pressure, at which maximum torque is transmitted, on the brake B2 engaged at a first speed, whereby maximum torque characteristics at a first speed are established.
