INK ADDITIVE FOR PLANOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE

PURPOSE:To obtain an additive for producing ink capable of markedly improving surface characteristics and preventing greasing of non-image areas by adding a polyoxyalkylene-alkyl ether phosphoric acid or salt thereof to ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink additive containing a polyoxyalkylene-alkyl ether phosphoric acid or salt thereof represented by formula I, wherein X and Y are each H, a monovalent metal or salt or a group of formula II; formula III shows an oxyalkylene group; n is an integer representing a mole number of the constituting units; and the total of the oxyalkylene monomer units in the formula I is 3 or more and the molecular weight of the polymer is 200 or more. The additive can be added to commercial planographic ink and also to the ink vehicle during production of the ink. The ratio of the compound of the formula I to the vehicle is preferably in the range of approx. 1:0.5 to 1:5 (by weight) in general.
