PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film excellent in the interlaminar adhesiveness to a metallized layer and capable of forming the metallized layer excellent in gas barrier properties by forming a resin coating layer from a specific resin composition based on a water-insoluble thermoplastic resin containing at least one segment having an ester bond in its molecule. CONSTITUTION:The resin composition used in the resin coating layer formed to the surface of a base film is based on a water-insoluble thermoplastic resin containing at least one segment forming an ester bond in its molecule. Further, the tensile elongation epsilon(%) at 60 deg. of the film is 100<=epsilon<=500. The minute deformation recovery R represented by formula of the resin composition forming the resin coating layer is 90% or more. The minute deformation recovery R shows the recovery force of the resin composition in such a case that said composition is deformed upon the reception of stress. When the minute deformation recovery R is below 90%, minute deformation is easily generated on the surface of the coating layer by the various stresses in a manufacturing process and, therefore, a metallized layer becomes non-homogenous when the metallized layer is formed on the coating layer and the gas barrier properties thereof are lowered. |
