PURPOSE:To make it possible to use a low-withstand-voltage smoothing capacitor by connecting a circuit, which consists of a series circuit of a load and the smoothing capacitor and a switching means connected thereto in parallel, to an input power source through a chopping choke. CONSTITUTION:When a switching means 5 is turned on, a current from an input power source E0 is passed through a closed circuit consisting of the input power source E0, a chopper choke L0, and the switching means 5 and at the same time electric charges charged in a capacitor C0 are discharged with a closed circuit consisting of the capacitor C0, a load 4, and the switching means 5. When the switching means 5 is turned off, a current from the input power source E0 is passed through a closed circuit consisting of the input power source E0, the choke L0, the load 4, and the capacitor C0 and the capacitor is charged through the load 4. A charging current and a discharge current are thus passed through the capacitor C0 via the load 4 and the voltage at both ends of the capacitor C0 approximates to the input source voltage. |
