摘要 The floating disc caliper body consists of caliper (1) and brake cylinder (2), both precision cast in a suitable metal, fitted together on accurate cylindrical surfaces (8, 9) and permanently joined by friction welding. An annular recess (10) for a piston seal is formed at the same time. The caliper incorporates a bearing (11) accurately sized for the piston and a cast-in steel tube (6) at the mounting point. A recess (13) for a piston wiper is formed by means of a removable casting insert (12). ADVANTAGE - Eliminates machining operations on caliper body and reduces manufacturing costs.
