Camshaft adjuster - has opposing meshing gear tooth systems for controlled rotation of camshaft w.r.t. camshaft timing gear
摘要
A gear tooth system (30) meshes into a set of opposing teeth (31). As the teeth move an adjuster (44) turns the camshaft and the timing gear in opposite directions through a pre-set angle. The gear tooth system has a threaded section (45) which meshes at the same pitch with a counter-threaded section (46) of the teeth opposite. The counter-threaded section (46) is held in place by self-locking and/or bearing friction so that it will move only when forced to do so by the threaded section (45) and the adjuster (44). ADVANTAGE - Less energy used in angle adjustment; the angle is securely maintained during operation.
