The motor car with convertible bodywork has a folding roof formed by a roll (6) of flexible material (9). This roll is fitted under the front edge of the rear passenger seats. When required for use the roll (6) is unwound and the material pulled upwards and then forwards over the heads of the front seat occupants. The front edge of the material is provided with a stiffening strip which also serves to attach its front edge of the material to the upper edge of the windscreen. The side edges of the material are supported on the upper edges of the raised side window. The material is also supported on the front seat headrests. USE - Convertible cars.
