A miniature sensing and transceiver circuit (3) is attached to the object, e.g. a laboratory flask. The sensor (20), which may be a piezo-crystal (13) and oscillator (12) for measuring weight, a temp. sensor, vibration detector, etc., feeds an output to a frequency countiung system. The counting system, which consists of two counters (10, 11) and a register (14), produces a digital signal proportional to the measured property. The digital signal is fed via an interface (15) to a processor (17) which uses a PROM 'look-up' memory (18) to generate the appropriate signal to be transmitted (6) by a tuned circuit (8). The object is placed on or near an aerial which is connected to the central recording unit. When an interrogation signal is received by the miniature circuit, the processor sends the latest measurement.
|
