Fixing method for conduit and equipment boxes in wall - applying mfd. plug to fix conduit and barbs projecting from box periphery

A conduit for electrical services or similar (3) installed in a wall chase or cut-out (2) is fixed in position with a special plug (4) prior to plastering or other wall finishing. The plug is mfd. from synthetic materials and has a hollow conical shape. It is driven in into the space between the conduit and the wall of the cut-out. The driving end and the upper rim are mfd. with sharp edges which anchor into the surrounding wall fabric. Effectiveness is increased if the conduit is slightly indented in the driving process. Wall boxes (9) required for the installation of socket outlets and switches normally require a deeper wall recess. This requires bending of the conduit to effect entry (10) resulting in stress forces in the box fixing which are counteracted by barbs forming part of the box structure and located around the bottom periphery.
