<p>The system modifies the bed of a river by installing transverse dams or groynes extending for part of the current cross-section, and with the tops below the level of maximum navigable depth. The ends of the tops are clear of the banks. Each dam is formed by oblong stone-filled wire baskets (4), each forming a transportable unit. These can be placed alongside each other, with their axes extending in the flow direction.</p> |
