Detecting misfiring and/or uneven injection in IC engine - by detecting and evaluating partial pressure of free oxygen in exhaust gas
摘要
The method involves detecting free oxygen in the engine's exhaust gas and evaluating its partial pressure. An oxygen probe is mounted in the exhaust gas flow. The region of the null crossing of the probe's output voltage is evaluated. Alternatively, the partial pressure on the reference side of the probe is adjusted so that the sign of its output voltage in normal operation differs from that during misfiring or uneven injection. USE/ADVANTAGE - Detecting threats or damage to catalysers or catalytic coatings. Reliably detects all misfires even for small loads and large numbers of cylinders.
