The arrangemnet comprises several casting moulded elements (7) extending along the surface to be protected. The elements are connected along associated element edges (8,9) by an edge connector. An element is sprung apart and exhibits internally inside the space in the element. This is intended to accommodate the casting compound which is a flange forming connector (14,15) at e edge of the moving element. A joining device (13a) is arranged so as to be capable of engaging around and holding the connectors arranged in pairs holding together theedges to produce a joint (12). This is arranged as to slide onto the connectors and to be enclosed by and cast into a mould.
