The device comprises, connected to the outputs of elementary switching matrices (M1 ... Mj ... Mm), electrooptic conversion devices (1) coupled to optical fibres. The outputs of the electrooptic conversion devices, connected to the outputs of like rank (yk), of the various elementary matrices are coupled in parallel via optical fibres (F1k ... Fmk), to a same output optical fibre (Fk) itself connected to a corresponding output (Sk) via an optoelectric conversion (z). Only one of the outputs (yk) of like rank k of the various elementary matrices can be active at a given instant. The invention applies, in particular, to switching devices coupled to video signal sources, for monitoring railway networks for example, in which it is desired to avoid crosstalk between the signals to be transmitted and avoid disturbances of electromagnetic origin.

|
