According to the invention a cycle of filtration is realized for liquids containing solids in suspension and a rotary filter, suited to realize said cycle, where the filtration is carried out by means of a rotary drum (3) fitted with a filtering surface (5), immersed in a tank (2) containing the liquid to be filtered (4).
