Drive apparatus (21) for a member (10), which can be moved between two limit positions, of a vehicle, having an electric motor (22) which is connected to a drive pinion (20) via a down-step gearing (23) which itself is connected in terms of drive to the movable member, and having a switching device (32) which controls the motor (22) in order to deactivate the motor (22) in at least one predetermined position of the movable member. A control gear (39) which is given a rotational movement of less than 360 DEG by means of an eccentric gear wheel transmission (40) when the member moves between its limit positions serves to acuate the switching device (32). The eccentric gear wheel transmission (40) has an outer wheel (44) with an inner toothing which is coaxial with respect to a common shaft (26) of down-step gearing (23) and eccentric gear wheel transmission (40) and an externally toothed inner wheel (43) which is in intermeshing engagement therewith and is mounted on a eccentric (42), connected fixed in terms of rotation to the shaft (26), for a relative rotational movement between inner wheel (40) and eccentric (42). The inner wheel (43) is prevented from executing a circumferential movement with respect to the outer wheel (44) and is moved reciprocally along an adjustment axis (49) which intersects the axis of the shaft (26) preferably at right angles.
