<p>A light weight, high strength laminate [10] having improved fire resistant characteristics and the method of making the same. A preferred embodiment includes a low density fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin core [2] between two parallel sheets of high density fiber reinforced thermoset resin [1,1a].
