The vehicle disc brake has two adjustable threaded spindles (7, 8) supporting the brake pad w.r.t. a cam actuated cross-member (6). Gears (16) and a toothed belt (12) on the cross-member link the spindles, rotation of the latter allowing adjustment of the brake pad w.r.t. the disc. Cooperating semicircular section grooves in the cross-member and cylindrical extensions (17) of the gears house ball bearings (19). The balls are fed into the grooves via a stopper-fitted radial bore. USE/ADVANTAGE - Accurate, low friction adjustment of the brake pads.
