The sack made of tube sections of two different types of material, has end panels (59) which are pleated, to fold inwards together with the top and bottom, to fold flat. Before the bottom has been made, the tube section (42) made of plastics material, forming the inner lining, has a weld made across its ends. The outer layer (13) is made of a paper based tube section. The inner layer has a filling hole through it, at one end, near the triangular fold (65) forming one extremity of an end pleat. After manufacture, this hole forms part of an opening scaled by a flanged plug (55), the fitting for the filling opening having a flange which is welded to the plastics lining. A reinforcing piece is fitted round the hole.
