Defective pixel detecting and blanking out procedure - retrieving markings corresp. to defective pixels in diagnostic process and storing them

The defective pixel of a semiconductor image converter (1) is detected during read-out, is stored in a time and memory position effective manner, and blanked-out in a normal processing step. In a diagnostic step, markings corresp. to defective pixels are obtained and sequentially stored. In the working step, the markings are transmitted sequentially to a level detector (2) for blocking. The markings are controlled by a mask cycle, derived from the image converted fixed cycle. Pref. a complete mask set is written into a mask memory (15) in the read-out direction of the image converter for the next line.
