Solid dosage forms comprise controlled-release pellets in a matrix of a meltable binder. Pref. the binder is polyethylene glycol (PEG) with a m.pt. of 25-60 deg.C. The dosage forms are produced by (a) placing the pellets in a mould and pouring in the molten binder, (b) heating the binder -coated pellets in a mould, (c) heating a mixt. of pellets and binder in a mould, or (d) heating a mixt. of pellets, binder and blowing agent in a mould. Slight pressure may be applied during moulding while the dosage forms are still warm. Alternatively, a mixt. of pellets and binder may be extruded and then cut into lengths. The dosage forms may be coated with an enteric lacquer.
