Improvements in the construction of rectifiers for traction battery loads. Means of rectifying mains alternating current to direct current together with a transformer 18 are incorporated as means for changing from the mains voltage to the battery voltage, compensating for the variations in the mains voltage by means of voltage variators 17, it being possible to select the working voltage in accordance with whether the electric mains where the rectifier 10 is connected is at 380 or 220 V.
