A locking device for preventing theft of the car. The locking device comprises a yoke (3) placed around the steering column of the car and a plate (6) positioned in front of the ignition lock. The plate is locked by a lock (8) and is pivotable, after unlocking of said lock, so that the ignition lock is accessible. A spring (15) urges said plate towards the locked position after removal of the ignition key and the plate covers said ignition lock. The plate cooperates automatically with said lock. |
