<p>The bomb-like fire extinguishing apparatus consists of an external shell with or without an assembly or an assembly of blades and/or a delay mechanism, a special operation/activation mechanism, a system for attaching it to the vehicle (aircraft, helicopter, launcher, ground station, etc.), a system of strong propellants enclosed, entirely or not, in one or more shells, full of water or other material, which can be enclosed, entirely or not, in order or not, in one or more shells full of fire extinguishing foam or other agent and which is finally enclosed in special waveguide diaphragms. After release from an airplane or by other method, the operating mechanism activates (on impact with the ground or by other selected phenomenon) the strong propellants. These gas propellants accelerate the materials which the shells contain e.g. water and fire extinguishing foam launching the mixture of produced materials, e.g. fire extinguishing foam, at high pressures, distributing them throughout the area, thus putting the fire out. The advantages of this invention are: 1) More efficient fire fighting as compared to other contemporary air or ground based fire fighting systems. 2) The ability to use fighter aircraft to extinguish fires. 3) Safety for the crew and the aircraft. 4) Adjustable size and type of construction and the ability to be attached to any type of bomb release aircraft. 5) Day or night use under all weather conditions. 6) Use for alternative operations (e.g. pilot training), depending on the material carried in its shells. 7) The ability to extinguish by using different media (helicopters, transport aircrafts, vehicles with special launching systems, ground stations, etc.) equipped with specific types of the bomb-like fire extinguishing apparatus.</p> |
