The invention relates essentially to a method for measuring the interpupillary distances and the fitting heights of corrective glasses to be taken into consideration when fitting them in a spectacle frame, characterised in that it consists essentially in: using a video camera (22) equipped with a lens having a variable focal distance or "zoom" (21) and, preferably, a directional or "light spot" projector (24), which are mounted in an adjustable manner on a support (23), and a monitor (25) connected to the camera (22); placing the client (20) for whom the spectacles are intended in a standing position at a distance (d) of approximately at least 3 metres from the lens (21) of the camera, in a normal position looking "to infinity" in the direction of the lens; filming the client (20) when the directional projector (24) is lit and the zoom (21) is adjusted to the desired scale, preferably 1/1; and either measuring directly on the screen of the monitor (25) the interpupillary distances, on the one hand, and the fitting heights, on the other hand, with the aid of a suitable device; or printing the image obtained with the aid of a printer (26) which is connected to the monitor (25) and then measuring the interpupillary distances, on the one hand, and the fitting heights, on the other hand, on the printed image with the aid of a suitable device.
