PURPOSE:To enhance the performance of a cell in terms of its storage and long time service and equip it with good discharging characteristic in a wide range of discharging conditions by interposing a specific composite material with fine porosity between the air intake side of a gas dispersive electrode and the inner surface of the cell vessel. CONSTITUTION:A cell according to the present invention is provided with a gas dispersive electrode 1 using oxygen as active substance and a cell vessel 10 having an air intake hole 3 leading to the atmosphere, and a composite material 11 with fine porosity is interposed between the air intake side of the electrode 1 and the inner surface of the cell vessel 10. The composite material 11 shall be formed from a fine porous substance, which has pore diameters below 100Angstrom and whose pore wall surfaces are provided with salts in which a saturated aqueous solution in the sealed space at room temp. has a saturated vapor pressure of 40%RH or below, and a water repellent substance arranged on one side of the first named substance. Thereby an excellent performance in practical application is obtained in a wide range of loads from heavy to light, and fine anti-leak property as well as long-term storage characteristic are assured. |
