PURPOSE:To realize a cordless telephone system with excellent portable performance and sophisticated function by providing a means allowing at least one set to settle a line for control and communication singly via a connector and a radio line. CONSTITUTION:A connector 1 uses an outgoing control signal to inform it to a main body set 4 that a handset section 5 is in an extension dialing state. Upon the recognition of the extension dial state, the main body set 4 is in the dialing reception state. When the extension talking is desired, the main body set dials immediately an extension number. When dialing to an external line is desired, a trunk line selection button 15 is used to select an external line and then dialing is implemented. In this case, since the operating state of the trunk line is always informed by the control signal from the main body set 1, the operating state of the trunk line is always displayed on a trunk line state display section 14 of the main body set 4. Moreover, the state change has only to be sent actually in the state notice of the trunk line by taking a traffic of a radio channel into account.
