PURPOSE:To give accommodation to the user by providing a means displaying whether or not the portable terminal equipment is resident in a radio zone depending on a reception level and a means displaying in which direction the radio zone stays when the portable terminal equipment stays at the outside of the radio zone. CONSTITUTION:When the portable terminal equipment is started, a level measuring device 21 and a level comparator 22 detect a radio wave, and when the portable terminal equipment is resident in a radio zone, the electric field strength is displayed on an electric field strength display section 62 to inform the enable communication to the user. When the portable terminal equipment stays at the outside of the radio zone, an out-zone display lamp 63 is lighted. When the user depresses a scanning start button 13, a rotary mechanism section 14 (not shown) matches once a directivity antenna 11 in a reference direction. The mechanism section 14 turns the antenna 11 at an angular interval each, the measuring device 21 measures the reception level, the result is stored in a memory 26 and the operation is repeated till the antenna 11 turns around. When a level comparator circuit 25 compares reception levels in each search direction stored in the memory 26 and outputs a level 1 to a terminal representing a maximum reception electric field level and outputs a level 0 to other terminal. A radio zone direction display section 12 displays it on its light emitting diode. |
