<p>PURPOSE:To treat waste water economically without using any chemicals, i.e., to coagulate suspended matters with sludge flocks by agitating so slowly the sludge flocks returned from a settling tank that they may be dispersed uniformly in a flocculation tank. CONSTITUTION:In a flocculation tank 1 while the waste water is staying for 1-3hr, the returned sludge flocks are agitated so slowly that they may be uniformly dispersed and become bonded with the suspended matters to form coagurated substances. In a settling tank 7 the sludge flocks contained in the water which has flowed out from the flocculation tank 1 are settled and then separated away. The sludge flocks are returned from the settling tank 7 to the flocculation tank 1, passing through port 8 as fluid returning means. In this way about 80% of the suspended matters in the waste water can be removed in such a short residence time as 5hr or so for coagulation and settlement, and besides, without using any chemicals and any complicated device requiring high level technique for its operation.</p> |
